We made 3 types of pizzas on our date night this week. They all started out with the same basic pizza dough. And then we just added the toppings we preferred. And if you know Jon and me, we prefer very different toppings!

Basic Pizza Dough
2 envelopes Fleischmann’s® Active Dry Yeast
1-1/4 cups warm water (100° to 110°F)
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/4 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoon salt
Olive Oil

Directions

Combine yeast and warm water in small bowl and set aside. Combine flours and salt in a large mixing bowl (attached to kitchedaid stand mixer). Pour in yeast mixture; mix until dough forms (8-10 minutes).
Shape dough into ball and place in bowl greased with olive oil. Cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in warm place for about 2 hours minutes or until doubled in size.Punch dough down and divide into 8 portions and let it rise another hour.

Preheat Grill on high.

Sprinkle flour on a clean counter top. Roll each crust with a rolling pin or press out with hands. Place on a sheet on well oiled tin foil (this will help it come off easily when putting it on the grill). Repeat with remaining crust.
Put the pizza crust on the hot grill. Peel it off of the tin foil.* you might have to slightly re-shape the pizza once it is on the grill.
Close the grill and let the pizza cook for 3 minutes.* Do not open the grill to ‘check’ on it. The pizzas need an extremely hot grill to cook in.
After 3 minutes flip the pizza with a spatula. Now top the side with grill makes with your sauce, cooked veggies, cooked meats and cheese. Close the grill and bake for 3 minutes.
Take off the grill, cut and enjoy!

* if you are making a dessert pizza, melt the chocolate ‘sauce’ before you top the pizza. And then add all the dessert (fruit, candy, marshmallows, cookies) toppings you want.
