Brownies with a salmonella free cookie dough smothered on top. For reals. This is the stuff dreams are made of. I’m not even one of those cookie dough freak people, but this stuff is goooooood!!!! I’ve seen a gazillion different ways to make the ‘edible eggless cookie dough’ on Pinterest but hesitated to try any of the recipes because I knew, just KNEW, all of my will power would be in a puddle on the floor. So maybe this means I’m a closet cookie dough freak?!?! Maybe. Ok fine, I am. There, I said it.
It takes all of 4 seconds to make a batch and even less time to consume it all. We ate the entire batch in 1 sitting, shameful. This is also why I run 5 miles a day, pushing a double stroller. Because I eat too much crap like this. Anyway.
This brownie recipe is by far and away my favorite. Perfectly fudgy, but it’s not a straight piece of fudge. And the frosting, well, it’s everything you want in cookie dough, without the fear of salmonella. The combination is decadent, yet still juvenile. In other words, everyone will enjoy this.
In other news, this is my first blog post in forever. No HUGE reason for the absence, other than just the normal things in life. I hope to get back to posting more consistently, so thanks for hanging with me as I adjust to the constant changes that raising 2 kids entails. One day they play so wonderfully on their own and I can get a ton of stuff done. The next day they won’t let me out of their sight and they want to be sitting on my lap while I read any and every book they can find, the ENTIRE DAY. So ya, we roll with it. Thanks for rollin’ with it too! In the meantime, make these brownies, and this frosting. If you have leftovers (fat chance), freeze individually wrapped brownies for a treat at a later time. Just thaw them at room temp for a few hours, or shoot, eat them frozen. Frozen brownies are chewy and delicious!
